Popular Mechanics adds this warning: “However, tire failures can happen any time of year, especially in the warmest parts of the United States. Besides heat and overweighted cars, other major bad guys for tires include lack of proper air pressure and, of course, impacts with obstacles.”
All that is especially important for drivers to remember before they set out on those spur-of-the-moment, unplanned road trips, like the one to Bethany Beach. It’s why you should at least take a look at your tires and check the inflation before setting pedal to the metal and getting on the road. A flat tire would spoil your good time. A blowout could be deadly.
